P.S I can assure this is all my own writing. It’s a sticky time starting out in ministry. With role models that lead into one way of thinking, your own conscience tell you one thing, fresh inspirations and endless … Continue reading

Mirror Mirror (on the wall…)
The challenge is over, and the mirror is back in my life once again. It’s a strange sensation to see yourself again, to have a weird kind of reunion with your face… And although Lent was hard, and a big … Continue reading
Perseverance
This month, I had the privilege to write a guest blog for Youth Work Hacks. Click on the link and give it a read!
Life in 2016
It seems I’ve been rambling bits of wisdom, and blogging random thoughts to inspire, but now I thought I would update you on what’s actually been going on.
The New Year seems to be going by quicker than I can plan it. Coming back to Bristol after a nice break in Suffolk, it was full steam ahead. We have been busy bees, planning our outreach events for the year, and praying into where God is leading us. I feel that our little gem of a church is tucked away too well, we need to be going out to the community, making noise and letting them know we are here.
With plans to start our new youth club at Easter, my thoughts have been on how to start it off with a bang! I want launch to be big and memorable, and involve Costa…of course. So with prayer and pleading, we are hoping to plan an evening of free Costas, lots of laughs and a time to show the young people that these Christian folks aren’t weirdos…
Prayer would be much appreciated!
Also, the year has start with the delight of three deadlines. Being abnormally organised, I have managed to hand in two essays early, meaning it’s not a last minute rush. But, if anybody wants to be bored stiff listening to all that I have learnt about Leviticus, don’t hesitate to ask! It turned out to be a real privilege to study that book, and see how such traditions, so far fetched from our own, could fit into the Christianity we believe in today.
It’s now semester two, and I am still loving college. I continue to find hidden gems in the library, which nicely distract me from my course reading. My days split nicely into mind-blowing theology lectures, and exploring different theories on youth work practice. So far in 2016, we’ve built a lego house, made balloon pets and I have been beaten shameless at table football. But what else would you expect a youth work degree to entail?
As I plan for how my year is going to pan out, it’s looking busy. But, I am buzzing to see what God’s got planned for me. I hope this strange optimism hits you too…
Thank you for your prayers and support, please continue to pray for me as my juggling of work, work and work carries on.
God Bless,
Bex.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
And as we waddle into the 2016, a few stone heavier (after all those mince pies) and still suffering with sore heads from merry times; we think about New Year’s resolutions! There are the standard promises we make to ourselves: … Continue reading
Home?
The resemblance of ‘Home’ has been running around my head for a while; Long before Bristol whistled for me to venture West. It began to make me think, what did it mean for the prodigal son to return home? And … Continue reading
God is the Best Boss
God is the best boss. Agree? You might think I am high on the spirit or away with the fairies but I think it’s totally true. As I mentioned before, in my last blog, each of my lectures at bible … Continue reading
Find Out What God’s Doing and Join In
Hello, Bristol… I love the blog title, it was a comment made in passing on my first day at Bristol Baptist Bible College. It’s so key, I want it printed on t-shirts and slapped on posters! Because surely, it’s what … Continue reading
